About This Show

When it comes to unexplained phenomena, it is just that. Unexplained. We try to approach this from as many different ways as possible, and to throw out the assumptions that have driven research for a very long time. These strange experiences people have, no matter what you want to label or catagorize them as, are real in some way. They have been reported throughout history and across cultures. If nothing else, they are a very Human experience. None of the theories we have may even come close to divining what we are actually experiencing, if they did, we would have some answers. We do not know what Reality is, what life or death are, or truly why we are here. We do know that our senses filter much out, and our memories do not work like we think they do. New approaches are needed if we are ever to make any progress at all in understanding what we are interacting with. Some of that comes from understanding ourselves, and some of that comes from having a truly open mind in confronting those things that defy explanation. We need new eyes, perspectives, and better questions. That is the goal of Where Did the Road Go? To go places that have not been tread before, and explore new things from new angles. To leave the well worn road, and wander...

Where Did the Road Go?

John Chewter on the Suppressed 562 A.D. Comet - May 30, 2015

John ChewterThis week John Chewter tells the suppressed story of the 562AD ‘comet’ that caused havoc down the length of the UK, killed many thousands of people, was the major cause of the UK’s Dark Ages and was deliberately covered up by the Pope. However, the story does not end there. It spans seven countries and three continents, possibly explaining a few ‘mysteries’ along the way. This show will likely raise a few eyebrows!

John had a background in electronic design and went on to be International Sales and/or Marketing VP for such well-known companies such as Harris, Zilog, Logitech, and Mustek.

For the last 20 years, John has been running Coastal Computing (a web & app technology company) with offices in Spain and the UK. He now specializes in coding & designing large website systems and new scheduled radio stations for broadcast companies, retail chain stores and other interested parties.

Alongside Coastal Computing, John and his archaeologist / anthropologist wife Sally have set up, coded, and run DeprogrammedRadio.com. This is a 24/7 web radio station, on their own servers, which automatically imports, time shifts and streams ‘alternative’ programs created by 3rd parties who would otherwise not get an airing on mainstream media - as well as some solid & relevant science shows. We can, and sometimes do, control it from smart-phones when we are travelling or researching.

John used participate in Roman excavations in southern England, has always been interested in classical and ancient history, especially the bits that ‘do not fit’. He has been researching some of these oddities for some 40 years, sometimes collaborating and assisting other alternative researchers, broadcasters and filmmakers, some of whom have appeared on this show.

John Anthony West and Laird Scranton on Ancient Cultures and Reality - April 28, 2015 (Mid-Week Podcast)

JohnLairdWe sat down with Laird Scranton and John Anthony West at John's home to talk about a whole array of things, starting with what started them on their paths of research, moving into some concepts of reality, Egypt (of course), lost civilizations, and much more. We also discuss the latest incident with Graham Hancock and Zahi Hawass, which if you missed it, Graham recaps here. Laird also drops some bombshells about his upcoming work near the end. We are very grateful to have been able to sit down with both of them, and for John's extensive hospitality. It really was an honor to be able to sit and pick their brains for a few hours. John Anthony West (born 1932 in New York) is an American author, lecturer, guide and a proponent of Sphinx water erosion hypothesis in geology.

Influenced by R. A. Schwaller de Lubicz, in 1993 his work with Robert M. Schoch, a geologist and associate professor of natural science at the College of General Studies at Boston University was presented by Charlton Heston in a NBC special called “The Mystery of the Sphinx” that won West a News & Documentary Emmy Award for Best Research and a nomination for Best Documentary. The documentary contends that the main type of weathering evident on the Great Sphinx and surrounding enclosure walls could only have been caused by prolonged and extensive rainfall during the time period from 10,000 to 5000 BCE and was carved out of limestone bedrock by an ancient advanced culture (such as the Heavy Neolithic Qaraoun culture). This challenged the conventional dating of the carving of the statue circa 2500 BCE. West suggested that the Sphinx may be over twice as old as originally determined, whereas Schoch made a more conservative determination of between 5000 and 7000 BCE.

Laird Scranton is an independent software designer from Albany, New York who writes about ancient mysteries, cosmology and language. His work includes articles published in the University of Chicago's Anthropology News academic journal, in Temple University's Encyclopedia of African Religion, and in the Vassar Quarterly Magazine. His book "The Science of the Dogon" was taught at Colgate University under the title "Hidden Meanings: A Study of the Founding Symbols of Civilization." He is featured in John Anthony West's "Magical Egypt" documentary series and in Carmen Boulter's "The Pyramid Code", a series broadcast by the Documentary Channel. He has been interviewed on a variety of radio programs around the world including Coast-to-Coast AM and Red Ice Radio in Sweden. He has presented at conferences on Ancient Mysteries including Walter Cruttenden's annual CPAK (Conference on Precession and Ancient Knowledge) Conference, the A.R.E. Mysteries Conference, and the Paradigm Symposium.
