About This Show

When it comes to unexplained phenomena, it is just that. Unexplained. We try to approach this from as many different ways as possible, and to throw out the assumptions that have driven research for a very long time. These strange experiences people have, no matter what you want to label or catagorize them as, are real in some way. They have been reported throughout history and across cultures. If nothing else, they are a very Human experience. None of the theories we have may even come close to divining what we are actually experiencing, if they did, we would have some answers. We do not know what Reality is, what life or death are, or truly why we are here. We do know that our senses filter much out, and our memories do not work like we think they do. New approaches are needed if we are ever to make any progress at all in understanding what we are interacting with. Some of that comes from understanding ourselves, and some of that comes from having a truly open mind in confronting those things that defy explanation. We need new eyes, perspectives, and better questions. That is the goal of Where Did the Road Go? To go places that have not been tread before, and explore new things from new angles. To leave the well worn road, and wander...

Mid-Week Podcast: 911 and Conspiracy Theories with Paul Kimball - September 18, 2013

Where Did the Road Go? Show Archive
This is the first of our mid-week podcasts. These are, first, in response to the numerous requests that we do more than one show a week, and second, these will have a more open format for conversation. Some may be short, some long. I will have some people on regularly, as is the case with tonight's guest, Paul Kimball. We also have planned regular conversations with Micah Hanks of The Gralien Report, and Camron Wiltshire of Sacred Geometry International. We will also have the occasional update from authors and researchers that have been on the show. We may not do one of these every week, and there may be weeks where there are more than one. They are not on a schedule. I hope you enjoy them.

On this show, Paul and I discuss 911 and conspiracy theories in general. It is a very diverse conversation of a complicated topic. We talk not only of the events of 911, but of what followed in it's wake and why, and how it really affects what is happening now. We also briefly touch upon the JFK assassination. Paul holds the view that 911 was more or less what the 'Official' story says it was, and I throw to him what bothers me about the 'Official' story. Is in an in depth exchange of perspectives.

For this mid-week podcast we welcome back Paul Kimball, and we discuss Roswell, Rendlesham Forest, and various other UFO cases. We discuss what Paul feels are the best cases and why. We also refer to his documentary, which you can watch below. I have to apologize for some of the sound quality. Paul sounds fine, but for some reason, both of my microphones have me sounding like I am talking through a tin can. No idea what happened and nothing much I could do about it.

The Other Side of Truth: The Paranormal, The Art of the Imagination, and the Human Condition by Paul Kimball (2012)

Above all, this was a fun book to read. Paul is a good storyteller, and can flesh out his experiences and theories in a very entertaining way. This is not about hard science and proving the paranormal. This is about experiences, and the bigger picture. Throughout this book, you get to know Paul a bit. His personality shines through, and he is not shy with his opinions. The essence of the idea here is that the paranormal, in it's many facets, is a work of art of a higher intelligence. That may sound a bit odd, but as you read through, and Paul clarifies what he means by art, it makes more and more sense. In this sense, art is communication. Paul covers ghosts, UFO's, shadow people, synchronicity, alternate universes, the observer effect, reincarnation, and much more. It all kind of interweaves.

Paul discusses his TV show, Ghost Cases, and suggests that ghosts are not what the general consensus believes. He has some pretty fascinating experiences, and you get to follow through his mindset and how it leads to this bigger idea. Throughout it all, you will also get a bit of more obscure history thrown in here and there. He covers an array of synchronicities that happened to him over a short period of time, and what it meant to him. Interpretation is key in the paranormal. And this is a fresh and thought proving way to view it. There is a chapter on time travel, for example, that serves as much as anything, as a thought experiment, and suggests some new ideas.

Overall, if you are interested in the paranormal, and have a somewhat open mind, pick up this book. You will likely enjoy it. If nothing else, it may get you thinking about things in a different way.
